Anyone agree that the word racist should be banned from this forum?

I'm so tired of seeing the word used out of context. I mean I know that would leave you pro's with only 2 denfenses, but come on I'm tired of it like white kids with du rags on.

No Abdul. I see you are from another part of the yahoo answers world. Here, if you have a different opinion you are called racist. If you are against illegal immigration you are racist.

I guess the pro's just choose to ignore the illegals marching in our streets holding their signs that are derogatory to us I guess their not racist their just concerned migrants looking for a better life.PLZ.

I say racist when a person is continually bashing on one specific race and thinks they are superior than them for being of another one. What is up with the comparison to the white kids with du rags? And even one defense is enough: morality. I don't need a law to tell me right from wrong. So no, I don't agree, if you or anybody else is being called that it may be for a reason.

You do not like it when people call you that when you disagree with them, but you are basically suggesting doing the same thing: taking away their ability to disagree. Banning the word is not going to stop people from disagreeing with you. They will still think you are a racist, and will just find more creative ways of calling you that.

In any case, I will personally stop using the word when people stop giving me a reason to. I am not suggesting you are a racist, but some people on this forum certainly are. I think I reserve the right to point it out when it is appropriate. Racism is wrong. The fact you want the word eliminated lends some credence to their argument: why can't you refute their claims without eliminating the claim?

Consider it a challenge. Think about your point of view. Is it NOT racist? Why or why not? If it isn't, then you don't need the word banned. You've got a good argument instead. If it is... then maybe you need to reconsider your point of view.

PC speech has incapacitated Americans' ability to have a meaningful discussion about anything. It should DEFINITELY be banned from this forum.

Remember when the mayor of New Orleans declared it was a "chocolate" city and would stay that way (a "racist" statement if ever there was one)? What would happen if the mayor of Salt Lake City declared it a "vanilla" city that would stay that way? There'd be an uproar.

Terms like "racist" are only tossed around when someone has the audacity to question our PC culture and they're only enforced against people who don't swallow the liberal agenda hook, line, and sinker. True debate about meaningful issues is no longer possible -- except in a relatively anonymous forum like this.

Although my truthful comments are sometimes so Earth shattering, and more "racist" than the questions put forth by the Yahoo approved "Macho Taco Comedy Team" (Victor, Antis_Suck, and Overloaded/Mr. Rock) that they are flagged and deleted (building my ego in the process), I do not believe in censorship.

I am tired of the racist accusations too, but if that straw man is eliminated from this section, the antis won't have anyone to laugh at and disagree with.

Wait a minute -- three defenses? I don't know of any other weak defense the illegal supoorters have other than racism LOL!

The word is way overused - but those types of remarks can't be eliminated. For example, and earlier question said that all whites need to die, and that it would be celebrated. That didn't use the "R" word, but it was certainly implied. So, just banning one word isn't going to change the message.

Of course, that little "report" button comes in handy for situations like that. No group should be put down.

I don't know. I think when people start going on and on about how rotten whites are, it sounds pretty racist.

And Serviocal, Canada isn't even CLOSE to being the second contributing country of illegal immigrants. India is next after Mexico. It has to do with economics, not race. Economics is why Canadians don't 'need' to cross illegally, as well.

I've notice many abuse the word so much that when people say it any more it does not have as much meaning as it once did. These folks calling people Racist are in fact going against their own beliefs if we are to believe they attend church we would think they would not sit back and judge everybody because one will not embrace their beliefs or their vision of a one world order and you are a racist if their dreams come do not come true.BOO WHO the world is a rotten horrible nasty place because the pro legal want gives us everything we cry for

I agree it SHOULD NOT be used to describe everyone who is against the illegals as RACIST, because we are not against one race, and we are made up of many different races. We are only against illegals of any race!

I agree it SHOULD be used to describe Jose Angel Gutierrez & La Raza, who are against ALL Races excluding the "Chicanos". These Militants AKA Terrorist, are truly RACIST!

No-probably shouldn't be banned -but, I know what you mean. I am against illegal immigration too. My ex husband lost a job to illegal immigrants and friends that had to compete with them and lost. Honestly, I feel that all American Citizens come first before anyone else. And that has nothing to do with race. There are American Citizens that are homeless, starving to death and in need of medical attention. Shouldn't they come first.
