1: he really trusts you and wants to share everything with you or
2: he thinks you are cheating

He sounds like a psycho paranoiac who gets unhappy for no apparent reason. You don't say how much you know this guy or how much you two are into each other but if you give into his misgivings about some dream he had then there's no telling what else he's liable to come up with. The only reason to tell you this may be that he's insecure about himself and he's afraid that he may lose you to this friend. It may also be like he is trying to control your life because of some sub conscious crisis he is dealing with. Are you worried that he isn't happy? This is, after all, only a dream. What is more important is to concentrate on reality and not read into something as transparent as an over active imagination.

He sounds very insecure about your relationship. Maybe he is worried that when you meet his friend you will like him better. Don't know why he would tell you though.
