I'm a Christian... but this question is for everybody no matter your beliefs cause I is curious what people think? I think they are a little discrazed in their heads and a little too extreme with the hate speech and such. I mean Pat Robertson someone should kill a man? What is that? Are they even Christians or just squirrels trying to take all da nuts for themselves... Peace

being Christians doesn't guarantee that Pat or Jerry will be any different than anyone? they are human and are susceptible to all human frailties. don't look or judge by them or their standards. keep your eye on God,not man, as He is who judges and has the last word.

Yeah, Pat Robertson said that we should try to assassinate the president of Venezuela Hugo Chavez. Personally, we're all on a spectrum of opinion and there has to be room for all, even at the extreme ends. I'm not warm on them and pretty disenchanted with their viewpoints, but we as a society have rewarded the ones with the most extreme behaviour. Rational discourse is rapidly degenerating into screech fights. Like Calvin of "Calvin & Hobbes" said: "If you can't win by logic, go for volume."
Problem is a lot of Christians that you *could* talk to calmly are effectively smeared by these caterwauling nabobs.

I think I understand where your getting at. Most of these ministers do have a great deal of congregation, or "Flocks."

("So sayeth the Shepherd! So sayeth the Flock."-Porkys II good movie.)

My point is you lead this group into the wrong message and standard, making things very difficult. Jimmy Swaggert and Jim Baker come to mind. You really have to live up to your standards in front of your people. And we're talking millions, give or take a few. One man can claim "Holy Stature" but totally live another life. That's when integrity must come into effect.

Robertson especially is, simply, frightening. Not only because of his views (which are laughable) but because so many people actually listen to him.

Though Falwell is a close second. But out of the two, Robertson is probably more influential.

Falwell literally said that gays were responsible for 9/11. Robertson was right there and he agreed completely. That's pretty much all you need to know about either of them...

Love the Christian. Hate the haphazardly applied Christianity.

I believe they are rich money lovers like the pharisees of Jesus day. They are all rich from their TV Ministry.
Yet what have they actually done with the money? they have fleets of jets and cars and mansions. It was said all the money that has been paid to these evangelists would feed and bring out of poverty every child in the world.
I think this scripture applys to them.

9 But he spoke this illustration also to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and who considered the rest as nothing: 10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and began to pray these things to himself, ‘O God, I thank you I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week, I give the tenth of all things I acquire.’ 13 But the tax collector standing at a distance was not willing even to raise his eyes heavenward, but kept beating his breast, saying, ‘O God, be gracious to me a sinner.’ 14 I tell YOU, This man went down to his home proved more righteous than that man; because everyone that exalts himself will be humiliated, but he that humbles himself will be exalted.”
15 Now people began to bring him also their infants for him to touch these; but on seeing it the disciples began to reprimand them. 16 However, Jesus called the [infants] to him, saying: “Let the young children come to me, and do not try to stop them. For the kingdom of God belongs to suchlike ones. 17 Truly I say to YOU, Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a young child will by no means get into it.”

I refuse to believe in any God that endorses war, murder, or Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, or Jim Dobson.

They are a detriment to Christianity. Some people simply abuse the concept of faith for their own personal gain. This is why Benny Hinn goes around in his own personal jet.

they give Christians a bad name, and are hate mongers. Some of my best friends are Christians, so I don't paint all with the same brush, Islam teaches me that. peace
