Don't go with the traditional flowers and candy. It is so clique and everyone expects that.
Do something special for her. Find a gift that reminds you of something she said or something you've done together. If you find that item that only makes since to the two of you then she'll never forget it.
If she said she'd always wanted to go to France...don't take her to France obviously, but make your apartment look like France, with a meal to match, and music...just set the mood. Make her feel like she's in France.
What ever you do, make it special for her and not something that you'd get for anyone else you were dating.
You'll be rewarded if it is something that she knows is all about her.

A Huge Soft Toy... Or Spend an Entire Day with her giving your quality time doing her favorite things also is a good idea

you know what will be the greatest present for me is to have always have my bf around when i need him. she needs you and what's the best present to give her is
1.flower with a poeme telling all the feelings you have for her
2. a date to see a movie she always wanted to see
3. a big party surprise
4. video of all her friends saying happy b-day

I like more personal gifts.. Try getting a photo frame with a picture of you two or something similar to that.. If she's not materialistic, she'd love it!

I think it would be nice to take her out for Dinner at a nice place Girls always like that . Or buy her a nice bottle of perfume .

Flowers are always good, her favorite perfume, take her out for dinner, etc... Depending how long you've been together maybe jewlery.

single rose, and a cd composed of songs that make you think of her. i gaurentee that cd will be listened to so much that her cd player will begin to melt the plastic
