I heard it's cheaper there but was wondering if anyone had it done and knows the cost.

Mine was somewhere between $400 and $500 dollars. But Planned Parenthood has a sliding scale for low-income people so that might help you out some. Just look in your phone book for a local Planned Parenthood and call and ask.

The cost will probably vary from Planned Parenthood to Planned Parenthood clinic, but if your local clinic charges too much, you might want to check with the Arch Foundation and see if you're eligible for a Mirena from them. They provide Mirena IUDs for free to women without insurance, who then just have to pay the fees for insertion, unless the doctor is willing to donate that time.

do you have any children yet? if so planned parenthood should provide it free...if you havent had a child yet then they dont suggest you have the mirena...i'm gonna be honest with you I got the mirena 3 months after my baby was born and it hurt alot because my cervix had completely closed up again...the doctor that put it in said if she hadn't known I had the baby she would've thought i hadn't had a baby...
