New Orleans, tons of history and culture and good food. Hit a restaurant on Bourbon street for some cajun food and some great jazz music. The drive across Texas is long and uneventful. You might like the Alamo in San Antonio. They also have a nice river walk area. If you are brave, cross the border into Jaurez, Mexico. Do not drive over, park in El Paso. When you cross into AZ on i-10, you could detour south to Tombstone. Also Saguaro Nat. park is interesting (all cactus). If you can Take Interstate 8 into CA towards San diego. Around the AZ/CA border there are really interesting sanddunes. Its one of the only spots in the country that is a real sand desert. If you are headed to northern CA (like San FRan) you may want to take a diff route, so ask me again and I will help. Have a great trip!

There is a book called the Most Scenic Drives in America by Readers Digest. I bought mine at Borders. It really has some good trip ideas in it.

Florida has caves out in the panhandle. I forgot their names. I heard they are beautiful. Never been to them.
