The way i curl my hair (and have been doing since i was little) is to braid it loosely but not to loose while it is still a little damp from washing it and then sllep on it at night then in the morning when it is dry unbraid it and it should be really wavy.

Girl, I know what your talking about and going through. My sister has the same problem as you until I found the right product for her. My hairdresser suggested that she use MATRIX BIOLAGE "Curl Defining Creme". Use this and your hair will start to have body. But i would use the body and lift shampoo and conditioner from Herbal Essence. This helps a lot. And to add to it, get a curly HERBAL ESSENCES moose. This will help you.
About the frizz....you need to get a friz silkening gloss to put over you hair when it's wet or dry no matter how you style it and plus it smells so good!!
Use KENRA silkening gloss or go to your professional hairdresser or beauty supply store they'll have answers to many questions. You need hairspray to hold the style but a defuser (attachment to your hair drier, like a bowl and use high heat and low blowing power to reduce the frizz) will help you get the wave or curl that you're trying to achieve.
Hot curlers is another option that you can consider. They work beautifully. This way you can control the amount of curl or wave that you want.
I hope this helped. The secret is finding the right product and experimenting. And for me that meant trying different brands of products because they all worked differently for me even if they say the same description on the bottle. Remember your hair is original, so you need to find something that works with your hair.

well the best way to make it wavy is to use a lot of hairs spray and gel after u shower, this works really well on mixed people or black people with naturally manageable hair and u should do this right b4 u go out it creates a shiny wet look and makes ur hair look super wavy

I agree with cheerchic.
If you like to have natural waves, then after you wash your hair, braid it (not too tight and not too loose). The longer you leave it in, the better the results. And (if you'd like) before you go out, sprits your hair with some hairspray to ensure longlasting style.
My hair always come out to have nice waves. And I don't have to worry of destroying my hair becauseI did it without treating my hair with chemical products. I hope this helps.
