Where in the bible says that? if she was sinless so their parents also and their grandparents too, etc. the only one who said that was "generated" sinless was Jesus, of course Mary is in heaven because she was one of the first followers of Jesus, but she is not over God almighty or the Lamb.

Mary the mother of Jesus was a woman who was described by God as “highly favored” (Luke 1:28). The phrase “highly favored” comes from a single Greek word, which essentially means “much grace.” Mary received God’s grace. Grace is “unmerited favor,” meaning that it something we receive despite the fact that we do not deserve it. Mary needed grace from God, just as the rest of us do. Mary herself understood this fact, as she declared in Luke 1:47, “…and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior…” Mary recognized that she needed to be saved, that she needed God as her Savior. The Bible never says that Mary was anyone but an ordinary human female whom God chose to use in a extraordinary way. Yes, Mary was a righteous woman and favored (graced) by God (Luke 1:27-28). At the same time, Mary was also a sinful human being just like everyone else – who needed Jesus Christ as her Savior, just like everyone else (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 6:23 1 John 1:8).

The Bible does not say she was sinless. In fact, apart from the fact that she is selected to bear the Christ, she is not differentiated from other women.

Catholic dogma, by a process of logical and theological reasoning came to the conclusion that she was sinless, mostly on the basis that as she was the Mother of Jesus, who Himself was without sin, then she must have been without sin herself. This doctrine is very much influenced by the idea of Original Sin, which begins as the sin of Adam, and is then passed down the human line, so that we are all fated to be stained with it at birth, regardless of anything we do.

The Original Sin doctrine was enormously influential in Church History, tho in the modern church it has nowhere near the importance it once had. Because Original Sin was thought to be passed down the blood line, then it was argued that Mary must have been sinless, otherwise she would have infected Jesus. The obvious objection is that on this line of reasoning Mary's mother Ann would ALSO have had to be sinless, and so on back thru the generations, until we reach Eve, where we end up with a logical absurdity. I don't know how theologians got around that.

BTW, one of the most persistent public misconceptions in this area is that "Immaculate Conception" refers to the Virgin Birth. It does not, tho even quite a few Catholics get this wrong. It refers to the subject at hand: that Mary was an "immaculate conception" that is, sinless from birth.

The Roman Catholics and the Orthodox churches venerate the Virgin much more than the Protestants, who largely ignore her. But although the Orthodox Church respects her it does not quite accord her the same status as she receives from the Catholics. For instance, the Catholics (alone amongst the denominations) believer She ascended bodily into Heaven (the Assumption). This is in line- quite logical when you accept the premises - that as Death is the wages (ie the result of sin) and as Mary was sinless, then Mary did not die. In general, while Protestants place great importance on Jesus as the second Adam, the one came to undo the calamity that the first had wreaked, they do not hold with the other theme, Mary as the second Eve, the Mother of humanity who lives again, this time as the Mother of the Saviour. In such lines of theological reasoning, it can be seen how the role of Mary in the Catholic faith is of far greater importance than in the Protestant faith.

Very good. You were thinking until you got to the part where you said Mary and the followers of Jesus are in heaven. No one but Jesus has ascended to heaven. Neither does it say anywhere in the Bible that anyone will go to heaven after death (besides Jesus).

The Bible shows clearly that the resurrection of the just does not happen until Jesus returns to the earth. Therefore, Mary, as well as all the followers of Christ, is dead, still awaiting the resurrection, with the rest of the saints.

Mary was a daughter of the nation Israel. She was the hand maiden of the Lord. Blessed in that God chose her to be the mother of the Lord Jesus. She is blessed above all women. She had a lot of good character traits. Jesus humanity came from her.

She also was in the upper room on the day of Pentecost.

Cathlics suppose she was born of a virgin to be good enouph to be the mother of Jesus. But that isn't anywhere in the Holy Bible. So, it is a false doctrine that God shines His Light on.

In Genesis it is prophecied that the seed of the Woman would defeat the snakes deception. A Messianic prophecy. Jesus is the seed of the Woman. The sin nature is through the mans seed. Jesus was born of a woman, conceived by the Holy Spirit. He was born like the first Adam before the fall. He was tempted by the snake like the first Adam and did not sin. Jesus obeyed Father God even to give His life for us on the cross. And He raised from the dead, defeating deaths hold over us. So Jesus Christ is our High Priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.

Mother Mary is in heaven with the Lord, the 3rd Heaven. Everyone redeemed by the blood go there. And they pray for us also.

Jesus Christ is Lord and stands at the right hand of God. God is Father, Word/Son & Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ in His resurrected humanity is at the right hand of God. Jesus Christ the Word of God is God with the Father & the Holy Spirit.

Wrong Mary Derovius. You are thinking of Mary Magdalene. Mary was sinless, a virgin and was chosen by God to bring His son in to the world sinless. No,she is not greater than God or Jesus, but she is to be recognized as great and to be honored. Looking at these postings, it sounds like people need to do some research before typing. Unbelievable the stuff people throw out there! Kinda funny but sad at the same time....

Mary was like you and me with original sinful nature as claimed by the Bible. However, a person is not guilty until he is proved of the crime. So it is not possible to call Mary names. Those who are on the net are well educated and civilized. So it is simply that Mary is not sinless.

The Catholic Church promulgates the Dogma of The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In plain English this means that Catholics are bound to believe, acording to its tradition guided by the Holy Spirit, that Mary was conceived without original sin, unlike any other human being.
Whether or not she sinned after she was born or remained sinless throughout her life is open to debate, but that's not part of the Dogma. The Dogma just says she was conceived without sin.

The theological argument for this is: had she been conceived with original sin, then she could not have conceived Jesus without sin. Jesus would have had to be conceived in original sin as Mary was carrying it. Of course this leads to a "reductio ad absurdam" (reduction to absurdity) as you could then argue that Mary's mother Anne would also have had to be conceived sinless and so on and so on...

Lots of Catholics do also believe that the mother of Mary, Ann, was also conceived sinless, but this is not the official Church teaching.

Whether Mary then sinned during her life or not is open to debate, but you'd be hard pressed to find a Catholic who will say "yes Mary sinned just like all of us". She's too highly venerated in the Church for people to be comfortable with the idea.

However, it's good to remember the Church does plainly teach that Mary needed to be saved by Jesus just like the rest of us.

True, it's not in the Bible, but remember that Catholics place tradition on equal footing with the Bible, and this is their tradition.

Mary was a faithful servant of God. Nowhere in the Holy Bible was it implied or written that she was sinless, only pure as in being a virgin. Jesus was sinless.

May God Bless you.

Mary was a sinner just like the rest of us. Only Christ Jesus is sinless.

Mary was not sinless. She was born into sin just like the rest of us. She must have been a very righteous young lady though for God to have picked her to be the mother of Jesus. While she was an immaculate virgin, I don't believe she was sinless.
