We deserve God's wrath and damnation for spurning his love, but by the sacrifice of his dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, we may obtain mercy.....

Amazing Grace
Words by John Newton 1779

Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas Grace that taught my heart to fear,
And Grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares
I have already come.
'Tis Grace hath brought me safe thus far
And Grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me.
His Word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.

When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift of salvation!

Absolutely nothing. Nor dose he "deserve" anything from us. I think you may have chosen the wrong key word there. A better word might be "want". What do we want from god? Ask that first. But don't get too happy either, god wont help you if your not willing to help yourself first. And even then you must trust in yourself more then you should trust in God. People who think god will do things for them and pave their path are the ones living in the trailer parks and such. Those on the top of the fortune chain are the ambitious, taking destiny into their own hands type. Well most are, some merely "inherited" their well-being. But still, someone had to put them there to begin with.

Nothing. That's what makes a God who wants to love us and be friends with us so wonderful.
