k-1 takes a year to go throught and adopt a few days ??? why.

Because international adoption agencies do all the work in advance. When everything is ready the baby is put up for adoption. When parents are found and approved there's nothing left to do but formalize the adoption.

Probably b/c babies have very little records and they don't have alot to change over in the adoption process,.
