No, each finger is an individual fingerprint, thus why when a person is arrested they fingerprint each finger in a rolling fingerprint. This is also why when a child is given a safety kit with full fingerprinting that it is good forever. If a child is ever taken they are able to be identified by any finger found (sad thought) but true....

When a person is arrested we take finger prints of all ten fingers as they are all entirely unique and different from one another. We also take palm prints on both hands as well as the side of each hand as they are also unique. We do this as people not only leave fingerprints behind, but many times will leave only a palm or side of their hand on a scene. All are fully admissable in court. We can easily match these up with the offender later on..then pay him a special visit!!

No, every finger is different. And all prints are different from anyone else. Out of over 2 trillion prints, there has only been 4 that were found to be the same. And that was in twins.

No, they do not! I was fingerprinted after I was hired to work at a prison. That's a question I asked while being fingerprinted.

Of course not. We all have different fingerprints. Why do you think investigators take fingerprints? They don't just waiste time. Fingerprints are just like DNA. (different). You should really watch CSI: Crime Scene Investigation :)

Each and every one of our ten fingerprints is unique, different from one another and from those of every other person. Even identical twins have unique fingerprints!

No, each finger has an individual print. If you've ever had yours taken, you'll notice that they print all ten digits, and usually have you place them all together, as though you were picking up something.

Making the assumption that you have more than one finger yourself, and you are able to see your fingers, couldn't you have figured that one out for yourself? If you only have one finger or you can't actually see, then I apologize.
