Dear Amarjyot - Thanks for the post. Please post more details. The boy is interested in further studies and is focussed towards MBA preferably in Marketing and/or Finance and/or HR

the mind set of you has made u think like this "The world out there is highly competitive and now is the the apt momment to capture what is good .To compete with the new world I too have to prepare MY son.the future of MY child depends on what I choose for him.from his selection to be in Bsc graduate prroves that he is n above average student or even can be in the brightest .so, I have to give him options including computers, biochemistry, biophysics, nursing, tourism, hotel managment,bba,etc....Travel,IT and Tourism are in boom.but much demand would be for specialised science graduates in bio-chemistry,bio physics etc....there is no future for a person who used to carry a degree certificate as in olden days"
But all this must be left to student to decide rather than we deciding for them
I am, by no means, downgrading or undermining the importance of economic development and industrial growth, but if our primary concern is only FDI, commercial benefits, and the number of millionaires in the country, it will distort our development as a society and the values of young people. Young people should be encouraged to take up studies of their liking, get involved in creative endeavours in whatever sphere they like most, since we do need extraordinary people in all spheres, for a great India of the future. It is not enough if we routinely create professionals and managers.
