Try having it wet and then put it up in a high messy bun. Then, spray it with Spray Gel or just plain hair spray. Leave it in over night. In the morning, it should be curly. It might be a little messy but that's in right now!

I have the same problem because my hair's naturally straight

Scrunching hair only works on people who have naturally wavy or curly hair

so what i do is at night before bed i braid it into a few [2-4] braids all around my head, and in the morning when you take it out it'll be wavy. from there you can either leave it soft or gel/scrunch it. it'll have the same general effect as scrunching naturally wavy hair.

or you can use loose rollers, or just use a curling iron to curl it, then leave it, or scrunch it.

Either put it in braids (that's what I do), or buy a curling iron. Either will usually work, but I recommend the braids, they work just fine.

with straight hair, the only way to get it to have any sort of wave is to put curlers in it.
