We dont know for sure. Bible say one of Abrahams half egyptian sons became the father of the Arab nations. We also no that both Jews (hebrews) and Arads are both considered semitic people. Genetic studies of mordern Jews have found they are most close geneticly to mordern day Plastinian Arabs . Plasitinian Arabs are said to be desendents of Arabs , Cananites , Phillistins , and other ancient peoples of the area. Ancient Israelis and Judaens (Jews) at times in history would take wifes and have children by the groups stated above. Many Arabs where Christians and pagons before being forced or freely joining Islam. Fact many early Christians were Jews (Hebrew) and many early Arab and Jewish Christians would marry. Mohammad was partly or fully Semitic in race ? yes. Mohammad was a Jew ? no. Mohammad had some Jewish roots ? Likely. Mohammad was decended from Abraham ? Dont no , could be. Where is his family tree? How reliable is the info?

Yes they would be considered 'chosen' but it's taught (mainly by Christians) that the Ishmaelites were not a part of the covenant because Hagar- Ishmael's mother- was not Abraham's wife. Even though Abraham was called a Hebrew, he was really a Chaldean by birth and the term Jew was coined as a short form for Judah- not necessarily Hebrew.
They will also have to admit that Egyptians are chosen to because of Hagar and the Ishmaelites- of who the prophet Muhammed descended from- are of the Egyptian/ Chaldean lineage.

Abraham was not a Jew.
The tribe of Judah originated during the life of Jacob, Abraham's grandson.
What became known as "Judaism" came later, long after the Hebrew people entered the Promised Land.
Mohammed is a descendant of Ishmael, who is the son of Abraham, by his servant, Hagaar.
But the scriptures clearly state the "promise" did not belong to the sons of Ishmael, but to Isaac's descendants alone.
Ishmael received other blessings instead.

Mohammad (pbuh) is a descendant of Abraham's first son through his wife's slave girl, Haggar. His name was Ishmael.
Jews are descended from Abraham and Sarah's son (of her old age), Isaac.
Therefore Ishamel and Isaac were half-brothers.
It is the Jews who are the chosen ones of God. All of those who descended from Abraham's union with Sarah. Again, that offspring was Isaac. However, God did promise that Ishmael would be the father of "many nations".
Since Abraham himself was descended from Noah's son, Shem, after the Great Flood, both Muslims and Jews are known as Semites (drop the "h" fom Shem and add "ite").

JEW(ESS)
[Of (Belonging to) Judah].
A person belonging to the tribe of Judah. The name is not used in the Bible account prior to the fall of the ten-tribe kingdom of Israel. The southern kingdom was called Judah, and the people were called sons of Judah or the tribe of the sons of Judah. The first one to use the name Jews was the writer of the books of Kings, doubtless Jeremiah, whose prophetic service began in 647 B.C.E. (See 2Ki 16:6; 25:25.) After the exile the name was applied to any Israelites returning (Ezr 4:12; 6:7; Ne 1:2; 5:17) and, finally, to all Hebrews throughout the world, to distinguish them from the Gentile nations. (Es 3:6; 9:20) Gentile men who accepted the Jewish faith and became circumcised proselytes also declared themselves Jews. (Es 8:17) However, in the Hebrew Scriptures the expression “alien resident” may refer to one who had adopted the religion of the Jews (Jer 22:3), and even in the Christian Greek Scriptures such are distinguished at times by the term “proselytes.” (Ac 2:10; 6:5; 13:43) The term “Jewess” is used at Acts 24:24.

Supposedly Mohammad would be descended from Ishmael, as are most Arabs. The twelve tribes of Israel were descended from Jacob, another of Abraham's sons, and thus both were "chosen" as descendants of Abraham to inherit all the land. from this you can say that both the Arabs and Jews are equally "chosen".
