why did not islam mention about dinosours, instead just talked about popular science in those times ?

Islam does; but in a general way. It says god created creature that you don't know about. and they didn't know about dinasours at the time. so, you get the picture.

actually Qur'an ( not verbatim ) says God created animals you know and animals you no not about. Perhaps dinosaurs were not known at the time to the general population the time the Qur'an was revealed.
