If you are at someones home for a large gathering like say a birthday party with a buch of kids and toddlers around and a kid runs or walks past you with the unmistakable odor of loaded britches, do you say something funny or in a joking manner or just keep quiet and let someone else figure it out?

The one who discovers it gets to change it! No really, tell someone. Would you want to walk around with poo all over you, give the kid a break!

I make a joke about it. Chances are, if you are around children, you are around their parents, and they've all been on the same boat.
I also carry around little shopping bags(or they make disposable bags that you can buy at the dollar store - 50 for $1) and tie the diaper up as quickly as possible. It helps contain the odor a little bit once you've disposed of the dirty diaper.
If it's someone else's kid, I would just quietly mention it to that child's parent.

From a my perspective (a guy), you tell the parent's that he has a load that needs to be changed plus you offer a diaper and wipes, if it's your house.

If the parent's don't do anything or play it off as no big deal, you ridicule the heck out of the child for stinking up the place and have the kids play "run away" from Mr. Poopy Pants.

If the parent's get angry, then that's tough. I can't stand parents that don't take responisbility for their child.

Some parents would be appreciative if you changed their kid but some might be a bit put off or even suspicious of it. I would recommend telling the parents that they have a loaded diaper or tell the kid to go see their mom or dad.

Joking about poo may be funny in certain circumstances, but not in this case. If you know who the parent is, tap them on the shoulder and whisper that their little one's bottom needs attention. If you're not sure who the parent is, then mention it to the host in the same whisper fashion to avoid undue embarrassment. Just a quick aside is enough to clear the air without making anyone blush.

Hmmm this same question is on here another time. Same exact wording.

Any way, I'd tell the parent if I knew them. If I didn't I'd tell the host/hostess. Parents are generally glad someone let them know. I'm mom to 3

Poor kids, say something!!! I look at the parents and say "Hey, you kid stinks" But then again that's why people don't leave their kids with me!
If you let someone else figure it out then they are going to wonder why you didn't say something anyways.

I wouldn't attract the whole room's attention to it. If you know who the parent is, let them know. Some people get embarrassed.
