they're both good for you, but green tea since it is less oxidized than black tea might have more ECGC and antioxidants than black tea. that's why there's all this hype about green tea. There's also debate that it increase metabolism which is not conclusive. Chai tea is usually made with black tea, but I have seen Chai green flavored teas. Chai only refers to the spices involved in creating that flavor.

I think any real tea is good for you. and is definitely better than soft drinks or other nutritionless drinks.
