The same thing that makes some people believe that the Bible is a holy book. I believe it is as old as the Bible, if not older. Is there a point to this question?

You can feel it's the word of god if you read it.
It has proof to put it lightly. It is the meracle or meracles
When it first came down to prophet mohamed, the arabs were at there peek when it came to literature. WHen the quran cam down, it even topped that in language and literature. And then when the enlightenmnet period came it was proven as the meracle of meracles because of all the science in it. If huimans go to a different enlightenment period in something else they will also find that the quran is the meracle of meracles.

Because the Qur'an says so, and they believe that Muhammed was foretold in the Bible.
When Moses got the Word of God, God made it possible for Him to perform miracles so that people would believe what God had told to him.
Muhammed could not perform miracles. The Qur'an was written over 20 year period, and it has a lot of repetition. You understand that the Bible was narrated by several people, but why on earth Muhammed needed to have so much repetition. I believe Muhammed is a self claimed prophet. He asks his followers to believe the Bible. So Muhammed confirmed the Bible.
Why would God of the Bible send His Son to die for our sins, and then 1400 years later send another prophet to change the message so that we are left to make it to heaven by deeds again. Resurrection of Jesus is not in the Qur'an.

What do you mean by "true theological foundation?"
The Koran and the bible are both books about mythology and magic. People believe in them because humans are aware of death and fear it. Religion helps people to be less fearful.
