I keep hearing rants about the reason why we are here is the free will to choose to serve God or not.

That is supposed to be love.

It all falls apart when you apply reasoning to it.
Firstly, how is it free will, when I was made to come here (against my will)?

That's right, I never asked to come here, so why should I have to subject to living forever in heaven or hell? Why not a choice to cease to exist for all eternity?

Want to give me free will & make me happy? Then do it God, but stop pretending this is free will! It's not!

Demanding someone choose between 2 choices you force them to have, while denying them the right to have any other choice is not free will, & that is not love.

Secondly, I have raging hormones. I admit, I do feel strongly attracted to women. I can't help it. But I hate God for it.

It makes it hard to be single, to be what I want to be.

Women might not be evil, but God will NEVER get my allegiance by trying to force this on me!

Back off God! Free will?

What doesn't make sense about the freewill concept is that if we use it and don't do so how god wants it then we go to hell. Where's the freewill in that? Another thing is that if a person chooses a religion then they still are in trouble because it's not the religion or whatnot that he wants. The whole concept doesn't make any sense. What I also find to be absurd is that Christians don't let people excercise their freewill. That's the whole concept is to make our own decisions. Freewill has too many strings attached to be true freewill if you ask me.

You're right, you do not have free will, but not because "you have only two choices". You do not have free will, i.e. the ability to look to God for salvation, because of sin that has tainted you to the point where you do not seek God. All of mankind is that way, and has been since the fall of Adam.

Therefore, you get only one choice, and you run headlong for it -- a robot of Satan, if you will, save for God's mercy and grace. Does God force you one way or another? Or will you call salvation, a good thing, "force", and being left in your sins, "freedom"? I think you have it backwards. But maybe I'm just talking to the wall, if God will never get your allegiance. Not that it was your will in the first place though.

We're here to get to Heaven with God, not to have the free will to get to Heaven.
Free will does not mean that you can do anything, it just means you can decide freely within the realm of the possible. If you have two choices, you still have the free will to decide between those two, even if those are the only choices.
When you were born you didn't know anything, so how could that be against your will?
What teenage guy isn't like you? It doesn't mean you can't be single.

Cousin, although I suspect you might just be railing against God who loves you unconditionally, I am going to accept yours as a serious question and try to answer it.

Firstly, how is it free will, when I was made to come here (against my will)?

It's not against your will. You agree to be here. It is within your power to leave whenever you wish. Many people commit suicide every year.

why should I have to [be?] subject to living forever in heaven or hell? Why not a choice to cease to exist for all eternity?

It is God's free will to offer you life, both here and in heaven. It is your free will to accept it or reject it. Why not a [third?]choice? Well, again, that is His free will. Your free will does not include unlimited power. His does. The entire universe and all physical and spiritual laws are not about you. It's all about reflecting God's glory. What? Being a reflection of the all powerful, all knowing, all loving creator and sustainor of the Universe isn't enough for you!? I like you, cousin. You think big! (maybe too big?)

Want to give me free will & make me happy? Then do it God, but stop pretending this is free will! It's not!

Actually it is. You prove it by not being happy. That is your free will being honored by Him. You can, anytime you wish, accept His plan for your life and be happy as millions of Christians already have.

Demanding someone choose between 2 choices you force them to have, while denying them the right to have any other choice is not free will, & that is not love.

Of course it is. Again, your free will does not include unlimited power. If it did, you'd be God.

Secondly, I have raging hormones. I admit, I do feel strongly attracted to women. I can't help it. But I hate God for it.

You hate God for one of the best, most beautiful things a man and woman can do together? Well, I guess that is also within the scope of your free will (but my wife and I jump on that one!)

It makes it hard to be single, to be what I want to be. Women might not be evil, but God will NEVER get my allegiance by trying to force this on me!

This, too, is not against your will. Are you really sure you never want to do anything hard? never be challenged? never grow? Well, the knowledge of how to perform a castration has been available for thousands of years. Any number of doctors can do this for you...if that is really what you choose.

Back off God! Free will?

Yes! Free will to accept or reject - your choice!. Free will to be happy or angry - your choice! Free will to grow and learn, or not - your choice! Free will to say thank you to God who gave you life, eternal life, happiness, a sex drive so strong it blots out your consciousness, a wife, a wife (that one's so good, I'm going to say it twice), unconditional love, unconditional forgiveness, unconditional acceptance; or the power to reject it all - your choice! .....and your responsability.

First, thanks for saying women aren't evil. :)
Second, no, you never asked to come here. But before you were here, you didn't care whether or not you came here, did you? Confusing concept, but it makes sense if you think about it.
Your question sounds like you are angry: angry at the world, angry at God, angry at even women because of your "raging hormones." God gave you a choice, and that choice was to follow Him or to not follow Him. He doesn't want to force ANYTHING on you; that's why He didn't just make everybody to serve Him, because then it wouldn't be in our own free will.
God made you. If He gave you a choice to cease to exist, there would have been no point in making you, right?
I happen to be a Christian, and I hope my answer told you exactly where your free will is. Keep thinking about it, okay?
luv,
Jen

Why are you so angry at God? Because you feel trapped? You don't want to be "forced" to make a decision for or against God. Whether or not you want free will, you still have it. God will not force you to choose Him. As I have said here before, He isn't interested in having puppets. And you may not believe this, but I can tell you from experience that these thoughts have been planted in your head by your enemy and mine, that cursed satan, until you have accepted them as your own. If you feel this strong attraction to women, you should probably re-think your decision to be single.it's not everyone who has this gift, as it is called in the Bible. To be very frank, and not to offend, this is nothing but rebellion against God, and you can't win, noone can.God loves you and wants you to be with Him. He has already made the first move, the rest is up to you.Praying for you.

After God created you, He has given you the opportunity to choose keep living or not, or love or not. It is up to you dude. If you really don't believe in God then what does it really matter. There is no purpose, no meaning, and no life after death, right?

I've been there in for years in the dark and in the despair. I didn't care if I lived or died, but thanks be to the mercy, compassion, grace, and goodness of God and others who God acted through that brough me back to the light, to goodness, to purpose, to love.

Don't whine about the choices dude, make a decision for good or for evil. I pray that you choose good and the regeneration of life that its brings in overflowing abundance.

In Peace,

Mark :o)

You are saying that the right to choose what you do with your life is negated by the fact that you did not choose to be alive. Actually, it is you who makes no sense, although I am not surprised because I have seen people in far worse denial...

Your parents chose to bring you into the world. They considered it a gift though it may be challenging for you to live it.

Would you really want to live as you please and just die? Why is that appealing?
