They have them for bicycling. A special hub is built into a wheel that takes data on the various performance parameters that interest cyclists, such as transmitted power, RPM, etc. If you use it in a lab with other monitoring equipment for biological performance (respiration, heart performance, etc), you get a really good idea what that human can do, physically. Not cheap, though...
