i want to apply for a visa to go to ameriaca for the summer and im a student in london. what is the first step i need to take

If you're a genuine UK citizen you don't need a visa for a 90 day vacation. If you're not British, apply in good time. They're careful who they let in these days!

call the American Embassy and ask them what kind of papers you need to bring and then bring them. It can be such a mess if you don't have the proper paperwork.
