My boyfriend & I broke up a couple weeks ago. Today he had a mutual friend give me a note that read:

Hey Erika,
Breaking up with you for *****,I admit it was a very STUPID THING TO DO! do you think for the time being we can be friends? I really dont deserve to ask you that but I thought about it & I just wanted to know. As soon as I get out of my wheelchair & cast do you think we can start over?
Always ******

The friend that passed along the note said he was afraid of us getting back together while he was still injured since its hard for him to do things & he didnt want it to affect our relationship. I'm more than willing to give it another shot, but I'm afraid of waiting 'till late april or early may(when he gets the cast off)to try. Should I just wait until then & risk him finding someone while were friends, or just ask him out again now even though he wants to wait?

He wants to wait, its not a matter of him thinking something better could come along its about his pride. he doesnt want you to have to deal with his shortcomings that are due to his injury. if it were me i would do the same thing as him and just hope that my girl would stand beside me even if she isnt with me in a boyfriend girlfriend status. just be his friend and wait the month or two out. you may even get to know him better in the friend role.

OK you've got to ask your self two questions and answer them honestly................has the other girl dumped HIM cos he got injured and why does he want to wait until he is better?

If the "inner" replies you get to those are good ones then it might at least be worth a thought of taking him back, you could say that you will give it some thought BUT if you have moved on by that time fame then it will YET AGAIN be his loss and there will be no revisiting this subject.

Regards

From the info you've given I would interpret it as exactly what it is. He regrets breaking up with you but, he's not sure if it's the right time to start over because of his injuries. Maybe he's worried it would be too much of a burden on you. Just remember, it's really up to you. If you still care and want to be with him- talk to him. If not, he's given you an out that leaves both of you able to face each other passing on the street. I hope this helps.

I feel he pretty much told you hes interested in you I think he feels he is a burden to you the way he is in the wheelchair and thats why hes asking you to wait cuz he is afraid knowing him this way might change things hes not looking for someone else just putting your relationship on hold and this is his way of dealing with it keeping you close like a friend. He won't be looking for anyone else but you.
