People feel the "need" to confront and correct people all the time. So why is it that when someone like me, a Christian, says the same thing, I get criticized for it?
Even when people ask my opinion, when I answer from a Biblical standpoint, they get very offended. Why is that?

Someone responded that it is filled with judgment and hate when Christians. People feel this way because they don't want to deal with the fact that they aren't as good as they would like to believe. They feel guilt inside and lashing out or placing the blame elsewhere makes them feel better. All I can do is pray that they see the light soon before the real judgment day. I know that I will be in Heaven. I can only hope that they do too.

Christians are in this world but not of it.
The world hates us, it does not understand us because we are not a part of it, if we were a part of it then the world would love us.
Those who get offended are not of God. Evidently there are believers who are of God and there are those who are not of God or who do not yet know God.
Satan and his demons get real pissy about Godly words and things.

They get offended because your answer makes the assumption that they are Christian. What if someone answered a question of yours or gave you an opinion based on Hinduism or Mysticism?
You can give your opinion without even quoting scripture at all. If you want to live as a Christian let your religion guide you...not be a crutch when you give an answer. If you are Christian, then you don't answer from biblical standpoints. These standpoints should be your standpoints and not just an option.

They probably feel offended because they don't have your strong faith and you make them feel uncomfortable and they have to become introspective of their own lives.
Or, they come from another position or education based on facts and math and are not comfortable with answers from a biblical context.
Don't worry about it. Life is too short. Just keep on keeping on and trust in God and his love for all of us.
God has a way of taking care of things and he usually does.

Because when people ask for YOUR opinion, they are not asking for a rehash of what is printed in the bible, they are asking for you to THINK and give the results of your thinking. It is very annoying to ask for an opinion and get a thoughtless pasting of scripture in return. I do not know of anywhere in the bible it says you have to stop thinking for yourself and become a parrot.
Christians claim to hold themselves to a higher standard. This also means greater accountability, so don't complain when people demand you enforce your higher standards.

Because they want to be right and think being a Christian gives them the authority to say something.
It's not true...the Apostle Paul told us to let our graciousness be evident to all. And that people will know we are Christians by our love.

Depends on what you're correcting. If it is my spelling or grammar, I say "Thank you!" as English is definitely not my first language. However, if it is "There is only ONE god and he is blah, blah, blah" (that's where I zone out) or some historical inaccuracy you are spreading because it doesn't agree with your bible and using it to 'correct' someone else - THAT'S when you get the Stink Eye from me.
