I believe so... if not your and your friends can use TeamSpeak or Ventrilo to talk during the game.

I really dont believe so I know that you can for battlefield 2 and for battlefield 2142 but Im pretty sure that they didnt add a mic feature for a battlefield game until battlefield 2

Yes you can.
Once your mic is installed, you have to set it in the BF1942 menu so you can use it.
