I am a christian also, but many of us believe the bible is fallable because it was written by man.
I believe it is a metaphorical, historical document of that time.
Each story in the bible has a lesson behind it, besides telling the story of God.
David and Goliath...don't run from your problems regardless of their size, etc....
The belief of Jesus Christ is all you need, the bible is a guidebook of life. Even Jesus said " look inside your heart and I will be there, you do not need a building of brick and stone" etc...(actually I don't remember the entire wording, sorry, but it was to that effect, lol)

Unfortunately humans can be influenced by things that they want - and corrupt the very things they hold dear.
Christians believe that God is the true author of the bible - and therefore they believe he wouldn't have allowed the bible to have been changed, embellished or otherwise unduly influenced.
If you are having problems with your faith, and in trusting the bible - then trust in God. That should be the source of your faith. Regardless of the bible.
Talk to God everyday. Leave all that church and religion stuff aside, except to examine what exactly you are having problems with them. Instead, turn your focus on God - and tell God what problems you are having.

Your right man.
But just because of the "not 1 jot or tittle of my word shall be changed" claus in the word, they think they have a case to make that it is impossible for man to have altered it.
Gee, guess they would of been slain. Think, people! It's already happened! Why do you think there are so many new bibles?
Besides, the KJV accepted by some as genuine, even that was a translation off an original back in 1611 so some of it is not even entirely correct because the authors had to decide between 2 possible (or more!) meanings on things that were ambiguous.
Man flops at anything he does! Haven't you learned that yet? LoL!
Not saying that God couldn't have an uncorrupted text sealed up in a wax tube preserved somewhere, but THESE BIBLES HERE ARE MAN MADE!
As a result, they can & do change!
P.S. No one will tell you they can though. They are all indoctrinated to blindly believe without thinking or research, everything anybody who calls themself a minister happens to preach to them.

Have you heard of the dead sea scrolls?
The VARIED many of the Old testament books and their were very few errors so that mean they were almost perfectly identical to the text we use today.
The Bible was inspired by God.
Bible is 66 books written by 40 inspired different authors over thousands of years.
1000's of Men and women died for this book so we could have it.
There is 100's of prophesies throughout the Bible
In Isaiah, Daniel, Revelation and many more books.
The Bible is the most historical book from that time in print.
It also has 1000s of copies maybe even millions in print today.
It possible but i dont think it has changed as much as people say.

Embellishment is what we humans do best and if you check on the Councils of Constantinople and Nicea, you will find that these were committees on establishing a more "uniform" religious doctrine thus, uniting christians under common beliefs. The parts of the bible which were "uniformly correct" were kept and the "not so correct" parts were put away, destroyed or at least treated as heresy.

Some believe that the holy spirit directed man in the writing of the bible.
If you go back into the Old Testament, you will read countless references to "living waters" and "the lamb." All of these terms are referencing Christ and his coming as seen in the New Testament.
Take a course in understanding the bible at a local college or university. You may get some answers to your questions.
We all doubt faith, even I. God sometimes shows me that he is real in the most unusual ways, and then I start to doubt him again. I think this is just part of the human condition.
It's how you hold on that counts.

Of course, you should not believe everything it says in the bible. Especially the whole Adam and Eve story, because that is not how it happened. Science has already proved that wrong. You can probably tell I am not religious but I think that people should only take the lessons about how to live life out of the bible, like respect parents, neighbours, that sort of thing only the good ideas on how to live your life. But the rest is seriously misguided.

I'm in a highschool theology class, and they discuss this issue ALOT. Yes, man could have embellished a bit. stories HAVE changed. however, God used divine inspiration to inspire these writers to write their stories down. They are messages from God ESPECIALLY not meant to be taken literally. that is a very common mistake. The bible should be considered more of a group of parables than actual fact.

There's no evidence that anything in the old testament is true. There is however lots of evidence of "facts" in the old testament that are incorrect. There's very little evidence that anything in the new testament is true.
It's all fake history, written specifically to manipulate people into behaving as the religious leaders wanted them to. It's propoganda.

God wrote the Bible by way of guy. and actual it grow to be in the time of 1000's of years aside between the initiating of the old and new testomony. and specific all those animals would have slot interior the ark with nutrients, in case you know how long a cubit is whilst in comparison with a foot or meter. what's impossible with guy, is a threat with God. And God isn't a baby killer, for He would not kill. it fairly is sin that kills, for the wages of sin is death. consequently sin = death. And specific God curses right down to the fourth and 5th generations, yet He additionally blesses to the fourth and 5th technology. guy chooses his destiny. God supplies Him a decision, and enables the end results of those selections to take place. you need to be happy with slavery additionally, as you're a slave. for whoever keeps in sin is a slave to sin. you're the two a baby of God or a slave to sin. one or the different, choose properly. The Messiah freed us from the slavery of sin, that we ought to continuously now no longer walk therein. it fairly is extra handy to have self assurance that mere adult males wrote the bible fairly than God, for this reason being loose to %. and choose what you opt to have self assurance out of it, or no longer stick to any of all of it jointly. yet whilst God wrote it, and He did, then that's direct and holy and absolute, and you'd be judged on your strikes by employing it, as all human beings will. FYI- muslims have self assurance in and practice slavery to on the instant time, no longer real believers in Messiah, nor interior the recent testomony. i grow to be there in Saudi and the midsection east. i comprehend for a fact they practice it, coach it, and stay it.
