I check out about 100 patients a year who are complaining of non specific tiredness.

Like most GPs I do ' a tiredness screen ' this involves about a dozen blood tests. Before I do it, I warn the patient that I will only pick up an abnormality in 10% and that half of those will not be treatable.

The commonest things to pick up in the treatable group are anaemia, diabetes, thyroid disease, occult infections and very rarely tumours and haematological malignancies.

In the untreatable group the majority show evidence of white cell and immunoglobulin supression due to virus infections.

It is worth getting a screen, but be aware nothing will be found in 90%.

You know you need to see a Dr. you could be anemic, you could have a sleep disorder, chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, and so on and so on. The first thing is to get a good physical by a Dr. you trust, they should do a CBC and a Blood Chemistry Profile, (especially if you haven't had these done in a while). It sounds like you are willing to make some sacrifices for your health and that is a very good attitude to start with. You will feel better after you get checked out, so call first thing Monday morning, ok, ok...

i don't know if you have any health problems or not , but for one thing you should try not to sleep 10 hours. to much sleep sometimes will make your body more tired.
i was having the same problem as you and had tried to do everything from ridding myself of caffeine, sugar, ...i tried exercise, but found myself being even more tired after that, i felt like i was screaming from the top of my lungs to everyone that i was tired and no one was listening... everybody kept giving me the same advice(which was everything i was doing). then i went to see my doctor and he gave me a RX called provigil.. it works great, i wake up in the morning, take a pill, and within 10 minutes i am wide awake and ready to do anything... i have had no side effects...no jitters or racing heart, nothing... so if you've tried everything go to your doctor and ask about it... it helps me... best of luck and hope this helps.
just thought you should know my doctor is a neurologist.

First, before you started on your so call diet. did you check with a doctor. Sometime, it is not only the foods we give up alone, is the problem. As I always stress to people you have to clean your system out from all the toxin. When our system needs cleaning, that is one of the symptom, also you are probably not eating enough nutritious foods or taking your daily vitamins, that your body needs to function. Get a physical check up!

You probably have sleep apnia so you probably need to go to the doctor or find a sleep specialist and they will do a couple test and put you on a better diet with some more carbs and put you on a sleep medication

Sounds like anaemia to me but notice you have cut out food that could give you a boost of energy. You may have a thyroid problem so your best bet is to have a medical check up then you can be ready to bounce into Spring.

Are you suffering from depression this can make you very tired and listless. Or it could be anaemia this also can make you feel worn out. Go visit your doctor and get it sorted. Good luck
