it does smack of nepotism.
further christians feel they have to support jews and israel so that jesus will make his reappearance?
what a concept! what a benefit to jews and those living in israel!!!
we send millions of dollars to support this tiny nation based on a book someone put together decades after jesus died?!!
ever heard of faulty memory?
self serving?
early dementia??
further, the bible states it is okay to have slaves?!!
so god was down with people being owned by others?
what a -----!
live in bondage on earth but live so that one can live in a paradise after death?
now, will my slave master be there alongside me or as my boss still?!!!
thumbs down........ thumbs all the way down

God chose the Jews because they were the smallest in number and weakest of the nations at the time. It is to show that the weakest people of mankind...who believe and with God on there side .. Is far greater than any strong large nation that does not believe in God . Examples of this is evident throuougt the bible.... Ex: David over Goliath- Jacob the youngest chosen over Esau. Joseph over his brothers. Hezakiah over the Assyrian army. The little town of Galilee ( home of the Messiah) Jesus..over Jerusalem. And Jesus coming from the smallest of the 12 tribes of Israel . Of course the Jews rejected Jesus ... Which then opened up The covenant to those (chosen people) that believe in Jesus Christ as your savior

It is written: "For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth." The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of al people, but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand , and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hands of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
Therefore, know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments-- Deu.7:6-9

Chosen Ones means they were set apart to worship God and bring the word of God into the world in written form (the scriptures) and living form (Jesus).
It doesn't mean that God loves them more than everyone else, or they get special treatment. In fact, the Bible says to the contrary.
When God told Abraham what would happen with his descendent's, he said "Through you all nations of the world will be blessed." God chose the Jews to bless the world, not to be elite above the world. :-)

They are of the line of Abraham, whom God came to and told him to leave his native land and go where God instructed him to go, and that He would make of him a great nation, and that all the world would be blessed thru him. It was simply Abrahams belief of God that brought it about. Through the line of Abraham, God brought the Messiah, Jesus, into the world to provide for the redemption of all mankind. Why did God do it this way? Only He knows. But I'm sure glad He loved us enough to do it, He surely didn't owe it to us, but He is full of grace and mercy.

As a whole, the Jews were God's chosen people until they denied and put to death the Messiah that was foretold would help them. (Not trying to offend anyone, ok?)
The Jews became God's chosen people in fulfillment of the promise He gave to Abraham in Genesis: that his offspring would become as grains of sand and that all nations would bless themselves because of the seed that would eventually come forth (Jesus Christ).
I don't think it was unfair of God to keep a promise He made to someone He considered a "friend."
Wouldn't we do the same?

The reason jews are favored and are God's chosen people is because of abraham. In order for God to send his son to this world A man had to be willing to kill his son for god. The only fit person for the job was abraham, he listened to God and left his riches. God even tested him by asking him to give his son as a sacrifice, he was willing and even went to but God stopped him!! SO YEA THIS IS WHY GOD HAS BLESSED ABRAHAM AND HIS DESCENDANTS SO MUCH. THOUGH JESUS ANYONE CAN ENJOY THE BLESSINGS AND PROMISES GOD PROMISED TO ABRAHAM!
