Disney has Cinderella, Alladin and the Little mermaid. Also try to buy her the "Baby Einstein collection". Educative and entertainment at the same time. Good luck!

The animals try to find him but an owl tries to stop them because since he left it's been rainy and dark and he owls like the dark. They save the chicken and he crows and makes the sun come up.) it's an animated movie. There's also the little mermaid. he Lion King. The Lion King 1 1/2. Theres Madagascar!! I ⥠that movie! My fave character is Gloria the Hippo. Anyways there's also a movie called: Ferngully: the last rain forest. It's about fairies trying to save a forest. It's also animated. Also, don't let her sit infront of the T.V all day! I'm not a person who says t.v is bad or anything just don't get her addicted to tv or anything. Get hr outside and try reading to her also! Good luck with the Hyper kid!!

I know you probably don't want to hear this but TV is never the answer to ANY of ANY child's behavior problems. You should see her pediatrician who might recommend behavior modification therapy or medication if her problem is truly out of the ordinary. If she's your first child, you might be surprised by how much energy a normal toddler has. Also, a regular schedule with consistant nap times may help her control her behavior during awake periods, as will regular exercise. Anyway, I will list some movies because it's your kid but I had to put in my two cents. I believe television is a child's enemy. A maximum of 1 hour a day is recommended by the AAP.
Little Mermaid
Cinderella
Snow White
Pochahontas (Sp)

I think that instead of just trying to calm down your child with cartoons you may want to find out why she is so hyper and how to best deal with it. Your child may be hyperactive. In order to find out if that is indeed the case here are some tell tale signs to look for:
Excessive crying, sometimes screaming and a refusal to be pacified or comforted. The child is restless and sleeps very little. He is difficult to feed by breast or bottle, dribbles excessively and may be very thirsty . Head banging and continous rocking are common and the child may not crawl but begin to walk and run around at a very early age. Some children sleep well but may have night terrors.
If you believe that you do indeed have a hyperactive child there are things you can do to lessen the hyperactivety. First limit the amount of sugar your child consumes daily to very spare amounts. As far as entertainment goes a hyperactive child has a short attention span so try to set up play stations. For example have station one be coloring station two playing with playdough and station three a relay race. Have the child spend three minutes at each station and when she has gone through all three switch things up. Change the picture to be colored, swap playdough for fingerpaints and make the realy race a jumping race. The idea is to have your child do short bursts of fun activities that her attention span can handle. Switching things up each time prevents her from becoming bored.

Okay, how about alternating books as well as cartoons! Please don't let her sit in front of the tv all day! When it warms up get her outside for walks and park visits. For now, I would say the disney channel is the best for animated and colorful cartoons. Jo, Jo's Circus, Mickey Mouse Club House, The Wiggles, Higglytown heroes, Little Einstein etc.. Books are wonderful because you can animate your voice and get her involved as well.

Have you sat her down and read books? My son is CRAZY hyper and he also calms down to cartoons. But I try not to let that me my out for him all the time. I find that if I read him like 2-3 books and then tell him that he can "read" some by himself he will for a while. Just an idea.
The fox and the Hound is out right now and so is Little Mermaid oh and Peter Pan just came out! Also Nemo is a great one!

Maybe you still should have her playing with other kids or taking her to the park and playing with her yourself. She is 18 months old, a toddler!! She isn't hyper thats how every toddler is. Its not healthy for a child to be sitting around all day watching t.v. Try making her your helper or take her to visit friends or family, go for a ride in the car or go to the park. She doesn't need to watch tv all the time.

Dora, Diego, spongebob my 1 1/2 loves them also Spirit by disney. But she loves outside more than anything!!!!!!!! When it warms up take her out and let her run around, it will tire her out and she will sleep really good, also try taking her to the park with other kids then you and the other moms can chat and watch the kids and the kids can run around and run off energy. Boy do kids that age have alot, would love to bottle it and sell it. hehe. Good luck
