To stay healthy you have to have the right amount of nutrients, otherwise your bodily function will fail. Here are the daily percentages of nutrients: Fat - no more than 10%; Protein - 15 - 20%; Carbohydrates - between 55 - 70%. Now the carbohydrates I am talking about here are fruits, vegetables, and grains. Minimize your white colored food intake such as table sugar, white rice, pasta, anything with flour. Stay away from highly processed food. About protein intake...if you eat more protein than carbohydrates, your body will become acidic which would make your organs burn out - in time. Plus you need the carbs to process and metabolize the protein. Otherwise your organs will not know what to do with all that protein and just dumps it anywhere convenient and turns into fat. As far as your workout...it's pure junk. Get this book by Mark Verstegen " Core Performance." That should help you jumpstart your workout. Oh and he's got nutritional advice in there too.

you should start lifting now . you dont need to prep up by doing push ups, thats kinda silly. you should go to a gym and have somebody who works their set up a work-out routine for you. they wont steer you wrong.
