Short answer, slim to none.
If you look at the Future Combat Systems, most of the equipment to include the majority of vehicles will be robotic.
For example if you have a company of tanks, lets say 17 tanks and only 3 are manned by humans. That means that the future military won't need as many service members to make it operational.
Hope that helps.

The problem Bush has is finding enough troops to fulfill his quest. I am sure he would like the draft back, but it is political suicide to bring it back. However he is a lame duck president. Anything is possible. It just needs a catalyst, a terrorist attack for instance. I think the odds are better than even there will be a draft (eventually).

If Bush stays in power, we don't have enough troops to replace the "Surge" so it looks likely. The upper age limit is 26 or 27 as it stands now.

Right now - not much. It would take a lot right now for them to reinstate the draft.
Scales would probably turn if the USA goes to war with additional countries or determines it needs more troops then it has available.

Pretty slim if you ask me... We are in an era of a smaller more high tech military... All that equipment we set our boys up with is extremely expensive so we would never be able to field an army of millions of men like we did during the second world war.

If a draft was possible, it would have happened a long time ago. Also, there's a bunch of democrats in congress.

not so sure though i say slim chance because in 2008 if Hillary becomes president she said she would end the war and send all the U.S. troops out so there will be no draft at all.
