Amps = Watts divided by Volts

So 80 Watts divided by 120 Volts is 0.66 Amps.

Tip.

Go to Google and put the formula in like this

80 Watts divided by 120 Volts

Current= Power/Voltage
Current(Amp.)=800/120
Current=6.6 Amp.

You can divide the watts over the voltage to get the AMP.

P=IV [Power=Current*Voltage]

To measure without hurting your self, use an AC ammeter with a clamp. It will clamp around the ac cord and measure the ammount of AC current going through the wire.

80Watts / 120 Volts(RMS) = .666 Amps(RMS).
To measure the current you will need an AC Ammeter and you will need to know how to use it without hurting yourself or starting a fire.

HTH ☺
