I am 5'5 and weigh around 105 lbs. I am also a ballet dancer, so i have lots of muscle. althought my stomach and arms are very toned, i feel like my legs are HUGE compared to the rest of my body. Is there any excerices that can help me to loose weight off my legs, or any diets that will help with this. oh yeah, I am also a health freak, so i dont mind trying anything healthy. Thank you!!!

Hi! I'm a ballet dancer too..and i completely understand how you feel because i'm tiny as well (5 foot!) and i'm skinny...but i definately have a muscular build, in particular my legs. I'm really not sure of any diet that would help because this is the way you're built and you can't exactly get rid of it, but try getting a big foam roller and rolling ur muscles over it for a while each day, it loosens them up (try this right before class). Another thing that helped me (and i don't know if you do this) but i used to grip my quads quite a bit, and as soon as i started rotating from the inner thighs and the right plces, some of the bulkiness did go away. I hope that helped a little! But i think the key here is to work (or keep working) your muscles in the correct way and they will look as great as they can!

Merde!

I'm 5'4 and am a ballet dancer, too. THe thing that started making my legs tone down a bit is by eating right. I used to eat all the time. Now, I try to eat less and healthier. YOu can still eat junk food, but just not as much. Anothe thing I did was doing excercises. I hate excersices, but these work. It's kind of hard to explain how to do the excercises. THe first one is for the top of your legs (i forgot what the muscle is called). Do wall sits for about 2 mins everyday and when you get used to it, add a little more time to it. Another thing to do is for the inner thighs. YOu sit down and you don't have to have your legs straightened, but do leg lifts in a middle splitz position or the stratel (no idea how to spell it). Once you get used to doing about 100 on each leg, you should try adding leg weights onto your legs. One more excercise is lay on your back and have your legs in the air open and close them. You should start feeling pain in your inner thighs. Hope information is useful and hope it works for you!

Sara, If you're 5' 5" @ 105 please take care of your self. You're perfectly fine the way you are. Ballet dancing requires muscles that most girls will never have.
Athletic ladies are very attractive.
My daughter swam competitively from 6- 18 years. Her muscles on her shoulders, arms, back and legs popped out all over. She's 5' 11" and weighed 142 at that time. When not swimming she played fast pitch softball.
While training for ball in college she lifted, worked on stationery machines and ran every day. Between her sophomore and junior year my wife who is nurse noticed she wasn't eating. Soon we learned she became Anorexic. After a month in what she called "The Fat Farm" specialists such as a psychiatrist, physiologist, nutritionist and a family counselor and my wife and I helped her out of the terrible disorder. After we got her over the hump we were told she had a severe case of OCD ( obsessive compulsive disorder). A grade of B on a test brought her to tears. Graduating third in her nursing school class was unacceptable.

Sorry for being so long but don't beat your self up about what you think about your appearance. Take Care Young Lady!

If you're a dancer I would say almost for sure your legs are all muscle! I would not worry about it one bit! I'm a swimmer and I feel like I have huge legs because of all the muscle. Honestly, don't worry! All the guys I've meet think it's sexy! haha. If by chance you really do have fat on your legs, the only way to get it off would be to work out your legs and turn it into muscle. If you did go on a diet hoping to lose weight off your legs, it's likely your leg fat would be one of the last things to lose. Good luck!

you legs are muscle if youre a ballet dancer. any more excercise and they'll probably get bigger. but its not a bad thing.... you can to squats and that will help you loose any flab you might have. im an irish dancer and i think that my thighs look like tree trunks (And im 5'4 and 105 lbs too, lol) but i found out that my legs arent fatty, theyre muscle-y. lol aaaaaaaanway yeah, squats are really good for toning legs. luck :)

Not a good look is it, I have always had a well proportioned figure except for my chunky monkeys, I honestly just learnt to live with it after trying much diets, excerises, and gym machines, also my favourite thing in the world to tone them down in summer I have a spray tan and in winter you cannot beat opauge stockings..

You are tiny! You need to accept your legs, unless you want to stop dancing. I bet other people think they are really sexy. I am a ballet dancer too and I always hated my muscly legs until I realised that everyone else loves them!
