Because.........."The Great Whore" (Catholicism) "Mother of Harlots (Protestants) and Abominations of the Earth".........have spawned many heathen religions out of Her and still celebrate the pagan ritual worship day of Sunday, and honor the pagan holidays such as Easter, St. Patricks Day, St. Valentines Day, and Christmas, just to name the major ones. Caesar Constantine who invented the Catholic (Universal) Church, was a sun worshiper and he worshiped the pagan sun god--Raw. There was no name of "Sunday" in the days of the week before Constantine made it that way to honor his false "sun god" and then in turn injected it into his newly formed Catholic Church of which he became the first Pope. The Roman Empire was in power at that time and their calender was the way the days of the week and months and years would be used for the rest of the world and is still used to this day. The Church of God of which Jesus had originally commissioned, had told His Apostles to continue His teachings of His Gospel of the coming Kingdom of God, after his death. That was the first Apostolic Church that Jesus Christ built and was the foundation and the chief cornerstone of and of which Peter would be the leader of. The first Apostolic Church called "The Way" had always observed the day of rest (Sabbath) on the seventh day of the week which would actually be our Saturday today, because this was at that time and still is today, the Jewish day of rest. From sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday. Sunday is considered to be the first day of the week, not the seventh as most people purport it to be. God's True Churches (little flocks) today honors the covenant made with their Father by keeping His sabbath day Holy and honoring all of God's Holy days. Caesar Constantine took upon himself to change it for his "newly invented" false church and the rest of the world..............So, the pagan practice of Sunday worship and honoring pagan holidays is alive and well in the Great Whore and Her Harlot offspring.

Constantine thought to change God's times and laws.
The bible refers to the serpent as being subtle.
It also describes the beast as thinking to change God's times and laws.
Once a christian understands that God's Sabbath begins fri-sundown and ends Sat sundown and remembers to keep it holy as the Lord commanded, then he begins to put on the righteousness of Christ.
Sunday is the first day of the week and God has commanded work for this day.
Sun worship goes back to the days of the tower of Babel. After the flood man worshipped the sun, and tried to build a launching pad to heaven in the ziggeraut known as the tower of babel. The rest of the story U know and their are thousands of different languages that U don't know.
But the HOLY SPIRIT makes available God's commandments to those who LOVE JESUS and want to follow him.

The sun is not pagan. To WORSHIP the sun is pagan. Christians worship God on Sunday because that's the day of the week that may be the greatest event in history took place. Jesus defeating death, arising from the dead to save mankind from sin and damnation. The first Easter.....Sunday.

Because this helped Constantine bring new followers to his religion.
Edit: I know. But Constantine was the one who made it a widespread religion in the Roman Empire.

Every day of the week is named after some pagan god Saturday after Saturn. So do we never worship because of that? it would be kind of silly, I think.
Sunday because it is the first day of the week, the day Jesus rose from the dead.
- By the way, do you think Christians should impose their words, and have it called Resurrection Day? Then you would really howl, wouldn't you!

the sun isn't worshipped on SUNday and therefore it is not pagan. the key historical events of christ happened on sundays and became the new holy day as opposed to saturday the jews would worship and that seven day adventists still adhere to.

I do have to wonder why Jehovah's Witnesses don't refuse to use the days of the week, since they're named after Pagan entities. (Sun, Moon, Tyr, Wodin, Thor, Freya, Saturn)
