Kittens are very easy to find. Spring is coming, so there will be lots. Call vets around the area. Alot of vets have kittens for adoption. Also, check the newspaper in the Pets section.

I agree. If you can wait a month, go back to your humane society to see what kittens they have in then. You don't want to bring home a kitten that is younger than 8 weeks.
In the meantime, you can make sure that you have all the supplies that you need for a kitten:
A traveling crate
Food and water dish
Litterbox ( one with lower sides at first and then bigger ones as the kitten grows up. She will need at least 2 different boxes)
Toys (fishing pole, laser light, other safe toys)
Scratching post
Kitten food (canned and dry)
Cat nail clippers
Brush
Collar with nametag
Vet appointment (discuss future vaccinations and spay/neuter appointment)

Also read up on kittens and what to expect. They will climb, chew, inadvertantly scratch. They are a lot of work and cost more the first year than an adult cat. Just something to think about!

hi... even though it's nice to have a "new kitten" there are many good cats that are available for adoption... at your local shelters!..... with a "older "cat you will be able to see the cats (personality) and dispostion... unless you have some info on a kitten's background/parents who knows what type of cat it will become.... a feral (wild) kitten will seem ok at first but, more often than not they will remain independant and more "standoffish" even though you may treat it like a housecat.... and the cats from a shelter have had all the shots and are "fixed" which will save you time and $ to have those things done!!!.... hope this info helps ya with your decision on a cat or kitten .......rocky

Check bulletin boards at pet stores and vet clinics. Keep your eyes open too, you might find one wandering around outside that needs a good loving home. If it's young enough, you should have no problem turning it into an indoor cat.

It's not the season for kittens. Give it a few weeks. They breed in the spring. Good luck!
