I'm glad that this is illegal. I could never picture being able to share my guy with other ladies. I would poke their eyes out. =P I don't see how a man can honestly please and meet every one in the households emotional and physical needs. I think it would have its positive aspects like a family support system but I can see far more negatives with polygamy. I personally believe that it is morally wrong and you know he will always have a favorite. =P

My best guess would be that it doesn't fit in with the beliefs expressed in the Christian Bible. Personally I wouldn't have problem with it being legal. Although I wouldn't want to share a lady, or be shared.

The goverment felt the need to oppress the Mormon religion, as back then our goverment was dominated by Christian conservatives that felt the Mormon beliefs clashed with theirs.
