First off, you really do need to speak to someone in person, a professional therapist, counselor, or psychologist to help you get through this. Go to your school counselor, or ask your counselor for a referral to a mental health clinic to talk to someone about what is going on at home for you.

I do not know how old you are, but what your mother is doing is called "verbal abuse" and it is wrong. You do not deserve to live in a hostile home;she should not be doing that to you, . You should not have to put up with that abuse, and she should learn some better parenting skills. YOU are not the primary issue here, SHE is, but you are the one who is hurting from what she is doing. It's pretty easy for me to say, "Don't take what she says seriously", but you are taking it seriously, and it is really hurting you. It may sound like a cliche, but it does really help to remind yourself that you are a good person, that you are not the person who she is describing as "horrible". She is going through a lot of pain too, but it is hurting you. Block her negative statements about you with strong self-affirmations about how you are strong, you are a good person, and that your mom is a sick person who is hurting herself.

I don't know how you respond to your mother when she makes statements like that, but maybe you should tell her exactly how you feel when she says those things to you. Make strong "I-statements"--"I feel very sad when you tell me things like that. I am having problems sleeping because I am so sad from the things that you tell me. I worry, and I am depressed when you say awful things about me." Don't go at her by attacking her, but make statements about how YOU feel when she does/says such things. Don't get into arguments with her, as it will become a power struggle for her--and since she's your parent, she is going to "win" those struggles but you are going to suffer from them.

Most of all, I repeat, it is important for you to talk to someone in person to tell them all about what is going on at home, and the problems that you are having because of the things that your mother is telling you. YOU do not deserve to live with such abuse.

Good luck, and email me if you like.

Hello Jessica. Difficulty in sleep is caused by depression. Constant worring is a sign of anxiety that causes bad sleep.
You are not a horrible person even though your mom says it. When we are kids we pay to much attention to what our parents say. As we get older we realize that we are independent and that some of the things our parents say are not true. I think that maybe you should seek for profesional help. Maybe the doctor can help you to find the root of the problem. Maybe you have more problems not only your mom. Good luck! Argentox2@yahoo.com

Hello, just wanted to let you know of a miracle pill that puts you to sleep, available over the counter, is actually very very beneficial for your health, and is only 3 bucks!! I had trouble falling asleep for years. I would lay in bed, and think and think and think for hours before I could fall asleep. It was literally driving me crazy!! I had tried every over the counter sleeping pill on the market and nothing helped. I turned to Nyquil and that did the trick. I had been drinking Nyquil almost every night to go to sleep until I stumbled upon this miracle sanity saving nutritional supplement named MELATONIN. And you can buy it at any GNC health food store. I advocate GNC because the melatonin they use goes through 85 different quality checks before its bottled. Buy the sublingual melatonin. The kind that dissolves underneath your tongue tastes like cherries and it’s good for you!! I was shocked at the effectiveness in putting me to sleep. If you have any questions before you buy it the sales associate at GNC should be able to answer any questions you have. It comes in 1 mg, I take 2 right before bed. The only side effects are weird dreams for the first two nights if any at all. You must take the sublingual kind from GNC otherwise it might not work because of quality and potency, should be taken at regular bedtimes in the evening. Must try the GNC brand at your local mall.
God Bless
P.S. after you try it and it works don’t forget to tell others about it. You could be saving someone else’s Sanity

Do you think that you are horrible person? If you think you are then be but don't do anything to disappoint you mother. If you are not a horrible person proof her wrong and do everything that would make her proud of you and I bet she will proud of you and eat the bad words she said to you. I was in the same situation. Now my mom is so proud of me It took a couple of years for me to get my things straight but I did it. Now she looks at me with so much happiness and she's proud of me. Try it and you'll will see the difference. Good luck.

what are you worrying about and what is your mother saying? Depression is seasonal to an extent, but some of us are depressed for a reason. In life change the things you can; and the things you can't , learn from them. Life is only what you create. I don't sleep at night I worry a lot but the stuff we worry about; generally we can't change and if we could, we wouldn't be worrying about it. If you are worrying about something how horrible could you be. If you didn't worry about things than maybe you would be horrible. Take it from me; there are some things in life you just need to worry about and some things are worth loosing sleep over.

When I can't sleep for worrying, I try to remember this. Half of that which worries me won't happen no matter what I do. The other half I can do nothing about from my bed. Then I offer my troubles to my creator to work on while I sleep so I'll be well rested to start on them tomorrow. It works for me.

P.S. horrible people don't worry about anything.

Speak with you guidance counselor at school. They can help you to find help.
Maybe your mother is having her own depression. Where is your Dad, Grandparent? Is there someone you trust that you can talk to?
Have you attempted to speak with your mother about your feelings?
