Does it ever bother you when you see other Christians speaking hatefully or judging towards those of other faiths?

The insults go both ways, I understand this. So, I don't need to hear any Tu Quoque arguments about how hateful atheists are. That's not the question. I'm admitting that neither group is any better than the other.

But as a Christian, does it bother you to see one of your fellow Christians behaving so badly? Examples being things like : "It is entirely your fault for not following Jesus. We are merely following God's holy word. When Jesus is torturing you filthy heathens in hell your whining will not do you any good. You better follow him now or he will rip your atheist hearts out." (From one of the regular self proclaimed Christians on R&S)

Are you likely to say something to these people, or do you usually just ignore it? Or do you agree that they should be constantly on the attack and are justified?

Yes, it does bother me. What bothers me even more is when Christians think they HAVE to be a nuisance, and be like this. Sad but true.

This is no longer a world where you can just walk out into the middle of the street and begin preaching, and actually have people come listen to you. 2000 years ago, that worked. Nowadays, it does more damage than good.

People need to use their heads, and lead by example, not unfriendly words, or words that push away in general.

Well first of all people who judge others of course should not and being a Christian does not mean you do ever thing right. It simply means you decided to have a personal relationship with GOD through Jesus Christ.
People make mistakes, so there is not much that can bother me about it and if it does then I pray for that person so they can be more stronger with their walk and make better decisions for the glory of GOD because that is who they have decided to represent.
I do not turn around and start judging or correcting them. I am supposed to walk the walk in front of any and everybody no matter what they believe in or what they do.

Oh yeah it drives me crazy! I can't stand it when 'Christians' do that. Not only are they turning people off, but they're giving Christianity a bad rap and driving people further away. Heck, i wouldn't want to join some group where the members who are supposed to be practicing fraternal correction rant and rave about my pending damnation!
Christians have to proclaim the truth (and keep it in mind ourselves), but it has to be done like Jesus would do it. And no one can tell anyone they're going to Hell- if that's not judging, i don't know what is.

I have made some very loving suggestions from the Word of God to a few and have received positive replies. Most who speak out like the one in your example are either very new in their walk, or are kids, or are even some who are frustrated and are venting in the flesh. Occasionally you will even see an apology posted. We are not perfect. It bothers me, yes and so I try to obey the Lord in being an example of His love and character and will pray for the ones I see that need help in their walk.

Yes it bothers me.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks...

There are ways of saying things that are less offensive, more graceful, not everything must be an attack. True the Lord did have moments of holy anger, but he never attacked people for just any old reason, his life was marked by love and grace.

I will admit that I can get a bit testy when someone insults or blasphemes the Lord Jesus Whom I love above all things. But I don't play the "You heatherns are going to hell" card because that really disturbs me.

Jesus came into the world to save it, not condemn it. I have no right to say who's saved and who isn't because God is the only One Who can make that call. He is merciful and compassionate, and we who claim His Name should be likewise.

There are those who are caught up in judgmental religions, just as there are young Christians who haven't matured enough yet in the Lord to be effective witnesses. Pray for them and don't condemn them. . .God can touch their hearts and show them a better way to reach out in love to others.

I agree- they make me sad and embarassed to be called a Christian on Y!A :( Pretty hypocritical to be "full" of Christ's love and wish death upon another. . . .

I would LOVE to say exactly what I think of the people on here I don't agree with, Christian or not, but that would just prove their points.

Though I do let a little sarcasm slip every now and then :D

It bothers me when someone who claims to be a Christian uses bad language or calls people filthy heathens.

As Christians we are warned that God will judge us for every idle word that comes out of our mouth. We are also told that it is not what we put in our mouths that makes us unclean, but what comes out of our mouths that makes us unclean. We should think of these things when we are talking to others.

The worst you will hear from me, is 'Sometimes we have to let pagans be pagans'. That quote is from a seminary professor, and I agree with the thought it poses.

To the best of my knowledge God does not rip out the heart of anyone. Sounds like kids that have spent too many hours watching horror movies.

It bothers the heck out of me. I am Christian, and I am almost embarrased by the actions of some of the other Christians on this site. You raise a very valid point. I often say something, such attacks are far from justified.

Not in the way you libs and unbelievers define "hate and judging." Jesus gave us the truth, all else is false. We are sorry if that offends you but we will never stop speaking the truth.

People dont talk like that in real life, just overzealous teens on the web. And if you think thats bad, thats nothing, you should see some of the stuff unbelievers say but I guess that doesnt bother u at all does it?
