Yes honey, that pretty much is true. But some parents have meaner ways of teaching their kids lessons than others. So try your best to listen to your parents and keep an open mind, although adults tend to be set in their ways. Be honest with your parents, and pray for them. Respect them as well.

When I was a teenager I thought my parents were stupid, but now that I am a parent and my son is two years from being a teenager, I am finding out that my parents were great parents. I remember my mother telling me especially when I did not agree with her in my teen years that when you become an adult and have children of your own than you can set your own rules. Well! I am finding out my parents rules are mine now as a parent.

The majority of the time. You might not even teach it to the child consciously, but by just watching they'll pick up the habit. Other times they'll try to be just the opposite if they realize that what you are isnt what they want to be, maybe emotionally or physically, so theyll go out of there way to make sure there are completely opposite of you. But most of the time, if your constantly teaching it and reinforcing it by doing it yourself, the child will grow to be a splitting image of you and your beliefs.

Yes it is very true. As much as you hate hearing it, everytime your parents tell you that, they mean it.
