If one group was really against it, some sort of action would have been taken. When Republicans were in power, nothing was done. Democrats are in power now, nothing is being done.

Republicans are in with corporate lobbyists who want open borders as a means of cheap labor and soaring profits. They are all wealthy elites and have enough money to shield themselves from the negative effects it has on our working people.

Democrats are in with more radical groups such as La Raza and the ACLU. These groups are trying to change the face of America, demographically and politically. They push for extremely far left agendas and know they would have a hard time pushing them through a popular vote unless they gain a constituency who is beholden to them through welfare programs and other government assistance. Here is where the amnesty movement comes in.

Of course Republicans are terrified of what would happen to their power base if all illegals who received amnesty attach themselves to the Democrat party, so they are also attempting to court these groups and they won't speak out or enact laws against them.

It's a wash. The end result is that neither Repubicans or Democrats will do anything to resist. It's going to take an independent or renegade party member to initiate action. The payoff would be big, since most of America would support anyone who will take a stand against the illegal invasion. Tom Tancredo '08!

Both parties need a formal Patriotic bitchslapping in regards to their efforts of reforming the issue.

Outsourcing all of our jobs and then hiring illegals to do the ones that are left is putting us all in the poor house. Companies that hire illegals should face severe prosecution. Identity fraud committed by an illegal should have been included in the Patriot Act.
Republicans favor immigrants because the Businesses that donate to their campaigns support the availability of a cheap work force. Democrats favor immigrants because they are supported by their minority voting block.

Typical Americans could care less about the needs of illegals, we didn't create the problem, but we sure as heck know that the problem needs to be fixed in a way that puts the interest of working Americans at the forefront.

I think the President is for more immigration as are the big business cronies of his. Only if the pay to them can undermine the American worker's pay however (Kennedy and McCain's dialogue has stalled on this very point.) Democrats want voters and there is this feeling that by letting us get poor and miserable enough, we will all shift to the left and all will vote Democrat. (The communist immigrant march organizers are hoping we will be so miserable we revolt, of course.)

Yet some Dems still remember American worker rights and school issues. And populist Republicans are adamantly against illegal immigration and immigration at levels threatening our jobs or lifestyle.

So this one really cuts across parties.

The Democrat party's unspoken platform plank in open borders and unlimited immigration. Most of the Dems in the US Senate voted for the Kennedy/McCain Amnesty bill last year and most of them will vote for a similar bill soon.

The only pols in Congress who may possibly stop the passage of such a treasonous piece of legislation are the conservative Republicans in the US House. Presidente Jorge Boosh will certainly approve of any legislation which grants a "path to citizenship" to the tens of millions of illegal aliens who are in this country.

All of th Dem candidates for President in 08 are for amnesty for illegal aliens, and only a few of the Repub candidates are against amnesty for illegals, Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, and Ron Paul. You should contact your US reps and Presidente Boosh to express your opinion on this subject.

I don't know really... I always thought that Democrats usually went for the lower classes, and minorities...but Repubs like the cheap labor that illegals give. And Republicans also have supported amnesty...in fact the only times that amnesty has EVER been on the table has been with Republican Presidents.

I would have to say Republicans.

Well the republicans have not sealed the border that lets them in. but the Dem's feed them give them money that would go to are schools witch now have to accept illegal immigrants in some states. good question not sure on the answer. but seeing as my kids are in school that's budget keeps shrinking i would say both help these criminals to much.

Has to be the Dems. Their party only exists thanks to catering to special interests, government handouts, entitlements etc.

Illegals are a cheap way for them to buy more votes. Why do you think they were in a hurry to pass the minimum wage increase?

Both parties support immigration, but not all of their members do.
