I have been having a knee pain lately, I'll be going to the doctor soon so don't just say "go to the doctor." Only answer if you have an idea of what this may be. It hurts very mildly when walking and does not hurt at all when sitting, but when my leg is bent in one place for too long it starts aching so bad I have to move my leg in order for the pain to stop. Many nights I wake up due to the pain. It's mainly focused on my right knee towards the left side. What could be causing this intense pain? Like I said, it only hurts the worst when my knee is bent inward for too long.

well it could be arthritis. i am 16 and have arthritis in my left knee. but i think it might be something with your joint. maybe your meniscus?[the cartilage in your knee] I tore the meniscus in both of my knees and had to have surgery, but don't worry i may be wrong. if not, it depends on the severity of how long you will be on crutches, out of school, etc.

I know knee pain I'm 26 lived with it for 15. there are many different reasons that can cause pain. you could have just turned wrong. If arthritis runs in the family could have been passed on, the more active you the damage you can do. a couple of ideas are RA, sprain, pulled ligament and/or muscle if injured in the past you may have irritated something inside

it's difficult to say because you did not give us very much information. how old are you? it could be arthritis setting in or something. are you very active? you could have stepped wrong and maybe messed up your joint. i am 20 and i have knee pain fairly often, especially when it rains. i think that my is arthritic, even though i haven't been diagnosed. bad arthritic knees run in my family. i just take a hot bath and a couple of ibuprofen and that helps...doesn't make it go away, but it helps. and it only hurts when i put pressure on it, like when i'm walking. try eating some bananas, too; you may have low potassium.
