A B C E (demonically inspired) some say that “And those indicators will accompany those who have self assurance: In my call they are going to … %. up snakes with their palms.” corresponds to this incident in Acts, Acts 28:3-6 GOD’S note Translation (GW) 3 Paul amassed a kit deal of brushwood and positioned it on the hearth. the nice and cozy temperature compelled a poisonous snake out of the brushwood. The snake bit Paul’s hand and wouldn’t enable bypass. 4 at the same time as the human beings who lived on the island said the snake putting from his hand, they suggested to one yet another, “This guy should be a assassin! He may have escaped from the sea, yet justice received’t enable him stay.” 5 Paul shook the snake into the hearth and wasn’t harmed. 6 the human beings were waiting for him to swell up or without note drop useless. yet once that they had waited a lengthy time period and said no longer some thing unusual ensue to him, they replaced their minds and suggested he replaced right into a god.

yes there are snake handlers in Kentucky, its sort of a crazy Christian Religious Cult. To prove their devotion to God they play with poisonous snakes and when they don't bite they say say that God keeps their mouths closed. Apparently the first few times you do it you do get bitten but there are medical personal to handle it so they aren't stupid. You would be amazed how many religions there are! A character in the play "Talking With" is a snake handler, its a very fascinating monologue!

I think the cobra handlers in Calcutta or Thailand do a better job,,
the venom is much more deadly than the eastern timber rattler
and they do it for entertainment, not some bible simulator trick
Oh and don't forget your canning jar of strychnine

The Bible also says "Judas hung himself" "Go and do likewise" and "whatsoever thou do, doest quickly."
I'm not recommending you do that. Just take things in context.
"Do not tempt God" means just that. He doesn't contradict Himself by saying handle deadly snakes and drink poison. But, if the believer is bitten by a deadly snake as one of the apostles was (Paul? Peter?) that we can have faith that God will heal us. Same with the drinking poison.

I'm a Christian and I don't do snakes. I hate snakes. And I've already admitted to God that I can't stand snakes.
