Camillus or K-Bar is what I carried in DOI.I still have the Camillus. The K-Bar was large and impractical. The Camillus is a pocket knife with a Marlinspike.
I like to sail on boats now.

Any good quality lock bladed knife will do. I carry a different one for different reasons.
Gerber makes a good one with rubber grip and both serrated and plain blade.
Buck Knifes are great. I have used them to cut cable. When they break, they are fixed free.
