if in the UK we have many makes of car the county I'm from we use the Volvo estate BMW estate for motorway patrols and fast response cars the police use ford focus the new style Astra and the ford mondeo they are generally used for patrolling the non motorway roads we also have the land rover discovery and the BMW four wheel drive again these are used on the motorway for patrolling the BMW and the Volvo are used for speed and responding to emergencies more than the smaller cars that don't have the quick response time

Well here in the good ol' USA, they use Ford Crown Vic's, Intrepid's, Chevy Camero, Ford Explorer and I have seen some of the Highway Patrol's using either Ford or Chevy Pick-ups.

In America most are Ford Crown Victorias. In Germany some are Porsche's or BMW's to go ffaster.

car companies come out with a polce package car every couple of years and then the best is selected but most smaller towns can't always upgrade so they stick with their older versions. the crown victoria was very popular for several years.
