This is sad. If you really want to know and don't, go to the library. If you want to hear graphic, sick answers from people who would love to give you dirty or misinformation, then read on.
Whatever these people say to you, remember that sex should happen between two people that love each other and are committed to one another. It can produce babies and it is something serious.

Seriously, you should ask your parents. If you don't feel comfortable talking to your parents about it, find a relative or close family friend that you feel comfortable talking to. Some stupid people out there are gonna give you misguided info. Sex is a very serious issue, not only can you get pregnant, but you can get Aids & other diseases. You need to talk to someone that is going to teach you about the safety of having intercourse....and like most people on here have said, it should be between two people that love one another and are in a commited relationship. Some people actually wait for marriage, that rarely happens these days....but I do know a few that have waited. This is a subject that shouldn't be taken lightly.
My mother died when I was 14 years old, I knew what sex was because I have 3 older sisters. However, my mom told me most everything & what she didn't tell me...my sisters told me.

One last word of advice don't ever let someone pressure you into having sex, if you are not ready it is OK to say NO!!
Remember it's your body & your reputation. Once you lose your virginity, you can never get it back.....something to think about.

You are 17 and don't know what sex is? Do you live in a box in the woods? Do you not own a television? A radio? A newspaper? Obviously you own a computer look it up. Just type the word SEX into a serch box and I promise you will find out what it is

Wow, your parents have REALLY dropped the ball!!!!!!! Go to your mom, in a private moment, and ask her. Don't stop asking until she gives you a straight answer. Please remember, when you have kids, that this is not the way to approach the subject of sex. Talk to them frankly and openly so that they don't have to ask complete strangers over the internet. Educating your kids about sex does NOT, I repeat, DOES NOT, make them more likely to do it. Giving your child the facts-the scary parts of sex as well as the loving, wonderful parts- helps them to make good decisions. Keep asking!!!
