I can't say I've ever kissed a guy, but when I kiss a girl, GENERALLY she would put her hands around my neck and I'd put my hands near her hips. It doesn't matter that much to be perfectly honest.

Palms flat out on his chest.
Palms out holding/touching his cheek.
Fingers in his hair behind his head.
Hold him at his waist.
On his arm.
Hold his hand with your fingers in his.
Grab his butt (only if you are really, really into him for your first kiss)
Or any combination of those.

Mine have always sorta acted of their own free will....but i usually end up with my hands in his hair or around his neck....or if im being the agressive one, on the side of his face

Well, if it's the first time, and it's just a peck, nothing really.
But if it gets more in-depth, then maybe his hair.
Muss it up a bit.

well when i had my first kiss we were hugging n he actually could feel dat i really loved him when i was hugging him n dat was true I MISS HIM :( WE BROKE UP...
