What software would give me this effect? how would I get it? Here's some examples of what i'm looking for

no, they're not models, just a few people that my friends knew, and they were just regular pictures to begin with

Adobe Photoshop, the diffuse glow filter would get you there.
Looks like some toning going on as well, and some desaturating.

What exactly do you mean by glow? Those photos look like they were shot with a softbox and the models were wearing makeup, lotions, or oils to give them a healthy sheen. Try posting other photos so that you can get a better answer.
