Depends probably more on what your expertise is in, in Electrical engineering as right now they are heavy into new processors to power more things on these cars)... Ford corporate is said to be some really good people to work for. I've talked to a lot of people who work for Ford and usually they stay for many years unless they plan on doing something else with their life

I would go for it. As far as I know Ford has never had a layoff. And with there Cars and Suv's selling so good they probably never will. There plants are currently working 24/7 with no end in sight.

Ford has a strong focus on quality so an engineer generally helps.

Siemens is a good place to work for EE's. Also, look into Underwriters Laboratories. I worked there and it was the greatest job I ever had (well, the BEST company I ever worked for is more like it.) They have several locations through the US and many field offices.

Definitely. Any major manufacturer is a good place to start a career. They usually pay well and have good benefits. Even if you don't stay with them, it is a nice entry on your resume.

If you can get in as as an hourly electrician. Most of the management wish they had our job. A lot of the time they start you off as a foreman. It pays well, but its a lot of hours,
All I can say is they treated me all right. I have no complaints.

Ford is not a good place to work for anybody. They are frighteningly close to going under.
