Looking for a place to find true biblical scholarship and teachings, not some hierarchical Church/cult etc. where they make you do silly things like sing hallelujahs and run across a stadium screaming "I'm saved"

Did you ever go to a church that makes you do those type of things you mentioned? Idid.
Every church seems to have something different they do. One may speak in tongues. A 2nd one may shout hallelujah, jump, but not speak in tongues, and claim devine healing, and dress with a vest and dress to floor. A 3rd One may be say you can do what ever you want, but pay your 10% tithes. One may just go to church on saturday. They may all say they are the one true church. You probably could not start a new church that is different from the rest, because there are so many that there is bound to be one that alread does the very thing you could think of.
Why not read the Bible and do what it tells you to do , and pray that the true creator of the universe will reveal to you the truth.Don't worry about what all the false churches say. Follow the Word. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet.Jesus was from the beginning, The Word, became flesh. He is also the only begotten son of God whose name is Jehovah.
The things I tell you is the point I am at now. I am only speaking what I am learning.but don't follow me, Follow the Word.

You have a good plan, and I applaud you for it. But you will need to test the teachings of any church you start to attend. To do this, YOU need to be reading your bible. Beware religions with "other books" that contradict scripture (Mormons, Catholic, etc.)

Remember also, the biblical teachings you need may not "feel" nice to you. Would you pick a doctor to heal you based on which one said that you are already healthy? Alot of people go to churches that won't touch on what they really need out of scripture.

God wants you to come to church as you are. (murderers, rapists, adulterers, homosexuals, fornicators, gluttons, prideful, pornography addicts, drug addicts, etc.) But a pastor who tells you that it's OK to stay in that state is doing you a disservice, and withholding the true blessings God wants for you.

Try the Anglican Church or the Catholic Church. They have the best scholarship and teachings. they have preserved the traditions of the Church and do not just have the recent "I'm saved" emotions.

Hmm....in general Hindu would be the best, as you can basically do anything, as long as you do it and believe in it and not waver from it. If you are speaking about Christianity, there are only three who are in contention (in regards to following the gospel/church the way it was set up by Christ). They are LDS (Mormons), Roman Catholic and the Greek Orthadox. All others have nothing to stand on but the Bible...and frankly, that isn't enough. Even Jesus attested to that one.

if the Catholic or Anglican tradition is too much liturgy for you, try United Methodist or Presbyterian. They are typically well-thought out in what they do; particularly in the city. In the country or small town, they are more simple but that's true of most churches. Be blessed as you journey.

definitely the protestant church. they actually focus on the true doctrine on the bible and they don't add any thing to it. catholics pray to mary and the saints when you are only supposed to pray to GOD!!! and Jehovah witnesses don't even believe that there is a heaven they also don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God which is what Christianity is mainly based on other than love. mormons are allowed to marry more than 1 wife which is basicly a sin. God only made one person for you to spend your life with not 2 or 3 or 7.

I believe that Southern Baptist, or any number of non-denominational "Bible" churches should be what you are looking for.

---edit---

I'm assuming that you want a church that sticks as close to the Bible as possible, with no compromises.

Don't join a organized religion, you can study all religions. In doing so, you, not other humans, will make the dicisions as to truths and fables or propaganda.
