Fairway woods have a lower profile, which makes getting the ball in the air easier when playing off tight fairway lies or out of the rough. People find them easier to hit than long irons. I personally prefer long irons.

Well... fairway woods ARE woods, so is the driver. A fairway wood is designed to be played from the fairway without the use of a tee, where only the very best players can play a driver (1 wood) "off the deck".

A motive force and a a million wood are notably lots the comparable. A fairway motive force is going to have somewhat greater loft and a distinctive flange because of the fact it fairly is designed for use off the floor.

A fairway wood is a wood, but not all woods are fairways woods. A driver is also a wood.

Actually they are changing they way they refer to them. it is now being called fairway metals and Drivers, that is probably one of the reasons for the change, to eliminate confusion.
