Who am I?

Could you be... the universe?
I'm not sure what "I am promised to bear the greatest king when he conquers his foes once and for all." means because it doesn't make a great deal of sense, not yet at least. How can someone bear the greatest king WHEN he conquers his foes - for him to conquer his foes it would mean that he had been born already. Hmmm.
